Vine with Ornaments

Hi!

This is Anja. This time I'm doing a Monday post. I'm still trying put the new Christmas dies. Today I made some ornaments. I love everything wood related and that's why I choose this wooden ornaments and combined it with a vine from last year's wedding release.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Wooden Ornaments, Fancy Doves with Vine),
- Distress Inks (Fired Brick, Stormy Sky, Peeled Paint, Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Mustard Seed),
- craft card base (15x15 cm),
- light craft card stock for background (13x13 cm),
- brown card stock for background (13,5x13,5 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- scissors,
- white acrylic paint,
- tooth brush,
- four split pins,
- hole punch,
- paper glue,
- heat gun.

First I cut and colored the ornaments.

Then I did the same with the vine.

Next it was the background. I cut and distress the edges of the paper. I spritzed white paint all over it and dried it with the heat gun.

The I cut another paper for the background.

I glued bth papers together and then made holes in all four corners. I put gold split pins in it.

And then I just glued everything together. And below is my finished card.

Before I go I just want to invite you to the store to check Black Friday Sale.

I wish you all a stress free week and see you again on Sunday.

Valentine's Vines

Hi!

It's Anja here. Can't believe it's already February. This 2018 is going fast. We are all snowed in and I'm happy I can stay at home and make some cards. I have another card today for you that can be used as a Valentine's card. I really like this beautiful angel die and I think it would be a shame if I could only use it during the holiday season.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Angel With Holly, Fancy Doves With Vine, Cupcake (Mini)),
- Distress Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Fired Brick, Barn Door),
- watercolor paper for background (9,5x20,5 cm and 8,9x19,9 cm) and die cuts,
- white card base (10x21 cm),
- white card stock for background (9,2x20,2 cm),
- Zig brush markers (flesh tones),
- black pen,
- watercolor brush,
- heat gun,
- adhesive foam pads,
- embossing tool,
- embossing surface,
- paper glue,
- water spritzer.

First I made the background. I cut tree rectangles (the sizes are written above). For the smallest rectangle I put some Distress Ink on my glass surface and spritzed a bit of water over it. Then I tapped the paper on it to pick the blue color. I dry it with the heat gun.

I colored the largest rectangle around the edges.

And then I cut another rectangle from plain white card stock.

I cut all the pieces from watercolor paper (300 g) and colored it with Distress Inks. I put the color on my surface and picked it up with the brush.

I used embossing tool to add some dimension to the vines.

When I had everything ready I glued it together. I used adhesive foam pads to glue the angel and the bird on the card. And this is the final result.

Have a nice Sunday and a crafty week ahead.

Stop and Smell the Roses!

It's Jeanne here today sharing a card featuring some of my favorite things - hummingbirds, roses and Prismacolor pencils!  This beautiful stamp and die set is part of the new release set to be available September 20.

This is an A2 side fold card.  The base is 11 x 8 1/2 inches, scored at the 5 1/2 inch mark.  I cut a piece of patterned paper 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 to completely cover front.
I first picked out the patterned paper and then matched the colors for the rose to it.  I used Copic markers under the colored pencils.
Next I die cut the foliage from the Fancy Doves with Vine die set and glued it directly to the card.  I then die cut the bird and roses.
I tied the ribbon on the bottom of the die cut and popped it off the card using foam dots.
My last step was to add the sentiment and some sequins. I decided to rip the edge of the sentiment strip to give it a more organic feel.

I hope you enjoyed today's card.  This is such a pretty stamp and die set - I had so much fun coloring it and creating this card!

Remember - the new dies will be available September 20 and the website ordering will be down until that date due to Cottage Cutz big move to a larger space.  Keep that wish list going!

See you next Friday!

Love Doves

Hi!

It's Anja here. I'm still inspired by the wedding theme, that's way I have another wedding card for you today. This time I used Fancy Doves die and new Distress Oxides colors.

- Cottage Cutz Dies (Fancy Doves with Vine, Nested Stitched Scallop Oval Set, Love Phrase),
- Distress Oxides (Abandoned Coral, Twisted Citron, Antique Linen, Peeled Paint),
- white card base (15x15 cm),
- white card stock (for die cuts, 14,6x14,6 cm square),
- black pen,
- soft brush,
- Sizzix Impressions pad and Silicone Rubber,
- paper glue,
- foam adhesive pads.

First I cut a square from white card stock and embossed the largest oval from Nested Stitched Scallop Oval Set on it. I sprinkled a bunch of drops on the paper. I used Abandoned Coral mixed with water. I dried it with heat gun. I also cut a smaller oval from white card stock.

The I die cut all the pieces and colored them with Distress Oxides. I used a brush to color the vines. I wanted a softer touch of green and the brush is great for that. I cut two doves of each. Later I glued them together on one side (where the head is).

When I had all the pieces colored I put the card together. I glued the smaller oval and the doves with adhesive foam pads.

Have a nice week and see you again on Sunday.

More Wedding Doves

Lois here with another Monday card.  A wedding is such a wonderful occasion for which to make a card.  You can go elegant or you can go fun.  I think my card today is somewhere in between the two.  CottageCutz has recently released two series of dies, both of which contributed to my card today.  There is a wedding set and a series of nested shapes.  I used one die from each set along with some wedding paper that I had in my stash.

To begin I cut a piece of heavyweight white cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", one piece of patterned paper 4" x 5 1/4" and another piece of patterned paper 3 3/4" x 2 3/4".

Then I cut the die-cuts from pink, green, and shimmer white cardstock.

Using some Copic markers, I added some color to the doves and the small hearts.

I placed some large foam pop dots on the pink die-cut panel.

The wedding paper that I used came in a pad which also included some pop-out die-cut pieces.  I found one that I liked and added the two small pink hearts to it.

I applied some liquid glue to the back of the branch . . .

. . . and some foam pop dots to the backs of the doves.

And then  I constructed my card.
