Campin out Moose

Happy Sunday Cottagecutz fans. It’s Wendy bringing you the blog today and I am super excited to be showcasing dies from the new Black Friday release. These dies are so cute and versatile and I know that I’m going to be able to use them all year long. There are 14 dies in the set and each one is fabulous for creating your camping scenes and so much more

So my first design today showcases quite a few of the dies, ‘Camping Out Moose and Reindeer’, ‘Campin Out Trees’, ‘Camping Out Mountains & Trees’, and ‘Campin Out Fox’

So I started with a white folded card measuring 5” x 4” when folded. Onto this in navy blue I added the largest of the ‘Nested Scalloped Stitched Rectangles’ and the 2nd largest ‘Stitched Rectangle’ on top for some height. I also cut the rectangle in white which i will explain about later

To create the background I have used the ‘Campin Out Mountains & Trees’ in grey and white card. The white card is for the mountain tops and I used a little blue chalk to give them a frosty feel.

Next I took the stitched rectangle in white card as and shaped it with the ‘Hills Slimline’ to give a snowy affect and attached with 1mm foam pads

For the next part of the card I cut out all 3 sizes of the ‘Campin Out Trees’ and assembled. I used some dark green chalk to make them look realistic and attached to the card with 3D foam pads.

Next I cut out the moose, sausages on a stick and lantern from the ‘Campin Out Moose & Reindeer’ die and assembled. Before sticking them to the card I used the log from the ‘Campin Out Fox’ so that it looks like Mr Moose is sitting on the log. Both the moose, the log and the lantern were attached to the card with 3D foam pads. To finish I used a white gel pen to give the effect of either stars or snow

So we are now done with the first card or

I really hope you like this release. I was blown away with the dies and the team will be sharing their designs in the coming weeks

I wish you the very best for the rest of the weekend and keep crafting!
Wendy

Bringing Home the Christmas Tree!

Hello to all of You!

It is Pam sharing with you on the blog today.

Guess what!!!  Part 2 of the new Christmas release is out and ready for you to take a peek.  Just go to our online store to check it out.  You will not be disappointed.  It is fantastic and I can't wait to start to play with all the new dies.  Be looking for the Design Team inspiration coming soon.

For today,  I am using one of the dies from the Part 1 new Christmas release.  It features two adorable penguins!

Design Steps:
 1.  Using the Penguin's Christmas Tree die cut out all of the pieces using green, red, yellow, black and white card stock
 2.  Shade and assemble the pieces.  I shaded with a sponge and different color inks to match the items being shaded
 3.  For the base use white card stock size A2.  Cut a piece of Red card stock 5 1/4 x 4, a piece of green checked DP 5 x 3 3/4. Using the largest Nested Stitched Eyelet Rectangle die cut a piece of whtie card stock and run it through the dotted embossing folder
4.  Glue the green checked DP to the red card stock and then add the white rectangle.  Add the red ribbon by taping it to the back of the red card stock.  Last pop up the penguin die to the white rectangle.  Next glue to the white card base and add you sentiment.  To finish add a little sparkle to the hats with clear glitter and shine to the star with Glossy Accents.

Love Mail

Good morning!  It's Jeanne today with a Valentine's card.  Hard to believe that it's just around the corner, and for card makers it is never too early to start making your cards!
For this card I picked the patterned paper first and chose colors based off of it.  I cut an A2 card base from Very Vanilla card stock, a panel for the front that is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches from the paper and a panel from Rose Red card stock using the largest of the Nested Stitched Eyelet Rectangles dies.
I used snail adhesive to glue the eyelet panel to the patterned piece.  I placed it at an angle that I felt was pleasing, then used my paper trimmer to cut the overage.

Very easy to do.  I have also done this with scissors if the amount of paper hanging off the sides is small.  However, I'm not that good with keeping the cut perfectly straight so I find the paper trimmer works best for me.
I cut the mail box and letters from Love Letters and the postmark and stamp from Love Postage using various colors that matched my patterned paper.
I played around with placement before gluing down.  I did cut off the branches from the mailbox post and added another letter and some small hearts (not shown in this photo).  One thing I love about the Love Postage dies, I now have a reverse color of the postmark and the stamp to use on another card.  When you cut them out of two different colors you will get two of each piece.  I'm planning to make a reverse version of this card with a red mailbox and blue background!

HOPE

Good Morning!

It is Pam creating with you today on the blog!

I am continuing to highlight our wonderful new release Get Well dies.  This one is for the women in our lives who are fighting breast cancer.  This horrible disease seems to touch almost everyone in some way or another.
 Design Steps:

1.  Start with an A2 light blue card stock base. Cut a piece of DP 4 x 5 1/4

 2.  Using the HOPE die cut it out in pink card stock.  Using the Nested Stitched Eyelet Rectangle die cut the second to the largest rectangle out of blue card stock
 3.  Shade the word Hope with Copic markers and then glue to the blue rectangle

 4.  Cut out the Rose bud in Pink and the stem in green using the Rose with Wedding Ring die.  Shade the rose with copics

 5.  Add the ribbon around the DP and attach to the card base then pop dot the HOPE rectangle  to the top half of the card
